American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act
On Thursday, March 11, 2021, President Biden signed into law the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act, to deliver critical aid to States, districts, schools, educators, students, and families as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This act provides institutions with funding for students identified as having exceptional financial need. This emergency grant can be used to cover any component of a student’s cost of attendance, including tuition, food, housing, health care or childcare education expenses, course materials, technology, etc. A student may also choose to apply the grant to an outstanding tuition and fee balance.
HCI College will award ARP grant funds to eligible students as outlined below until funds have been depleted. Once the ARP grant has been awarded, checks will be mailed to the address we have on file. If needed, please contact your financial aid office today to make any corrections to your contact information.
- For student enrolled in a Federal Student Aid eligible educational program, who have an official Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on their most recent Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) received at HCI College, will be awarded as follows:
EFC 0 to 1000
EFC 1001 to 2000
EFC 2001 to 3000
EFC 3001 and higher
- Students enrolled in an educational program that is not eligible for Federal Student Aid and students enrolled in a Federal Student Aid eligible educational program that have not completed the FAFSA at HCI College, that wish to receive an award from these funds, will be required to complete a ARP No FAFSA Questionnaire in lieu of the FAFSA. The completed questionnaire (and additional documentation the student chooses to provide) will be reviewed by a team at the institution to determine if the student has demonstrated exceptional need, the decision of the team is final and cannot be appealed. Students from this group determined to have exceptional need will be awarded $1,000.
ARP Authorization Form – All students that wish to apply their ARP grant towards their tuition and fees must complete this form. This form authorizes HCI College to apply the funds directly to their student ledger account to cover institutional charges. If the account balance is less than the award amount, the excess funds will be paid to the student. Students may rescind their request at any time by completing a new ARP Authorization Form. This cancellation is not retroactive; if the authorization to retain is rescinded, HCI College will deliver any remaining ARP credit balance according to the revised choice.
Please complete the forms online as needed and hit the submit button. Once received we will review and process. You will be contacted if any additional information is needed.
