Paramedic

The Paramedic program prepares the graduate to function in a pre-hospital setting at an advanced level and to be able to demonstrate this advanced knowledge in patient assessments, administration of medications, EKG monitoring, and advanced resuscitation procedures. The program consists of lectures, labs, hospital and ride times in accordance with the latest National EMS Standards. The Paramedic Program will prepare the student to take the Florida State Paramedic exam. Upon successful completion of the program, a Diploma is granted. This may be applied as credit earned to an A.S. in EMS.

 

Accreditation – CoAEMSP

The Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

The retention and attrition set by CoAEMSP is 70% and based on the percentage of students who started on the enrollment date (who began Paramedic coursework) who are enrolled and graduated.

Positive (JOB) Placement

The Positive (Job) Placement threshold set by CoAEMSP is 70%. Positive (Job) placement means that the graduate is employed full or part-time or volunteers in the profession or in a related field; or is continuing his/her education; or is serving in the military.
