Associate of Science Degrees

Nursing (72 Credits) – West Palm Beach & Fort Lauderdale

Program Description: This degree program focuses on: wellness of self and others;  technical nursing skills across the life span in acute care facilities, long-term care facilities and the community environment; critical care concepts; and professional development.  Upon graduation, the student is awarded an Associate in Science degree (A.S.) and is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam (NCLEX) to become a registered nurse (RN).

Available within this program is admission as either a beginning or a transition student. Beginning students submit information and documents to the Director of Education for advisement. Transition students submit college application and transcripts to the Admissions Office at HCI College.

The Nursing program at HCI College is committed to providing the best education for students seeking an Associate of Science Degree (A.S.) in Nursing. The program is designed to provide educational and clinical experiences leading to employment in beginning positions as registered nurses in hospitals or comparable facilities.

 

Emergency Medical Services (60 Credits) – Online Only 

Program Description: The Associate of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services prepares individuals who are seeking career advancement and increased employment opportunities in the field of Emergency Medical Services. The combination of the EMT- Paramedic curriculum and the general education courses offered by HCI College will enable the student to obtain an Associate of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services.

 

Fire Science (60 Credits) – West Palm Beach

Program Description: The Fire Science Program is available for certified firefighters who are looking for career advancement. This program will provide students with the proper training and courses required for certification as Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, and Fire Inspector. The Fire Science Program will prepare the graduate for career advancement in a variety of supervisory and technical positions within fire service. All courses within the Fire Science Program are approved by the Florida State Fire College. Potential students are encouraged to consult with an Academic Advisor before enrolling to find out about any special requirements. These courses, in conjunction with general education classes and electives, culminate to a potential Associate of Science degree in Fire Science that will enable the firefighter to enhance his/her career as well as service the community in a higher capacity. Upon passing all required courses, an Associate of Science degree  in Fire Science  is granted. Graduates with an Associate of Science degree will then have a strong educational base on which to build a future.

 

Due to the COVID-19 Virus and in cooperation with local and state health agencies, HCI College has made temporary changes to the mode of delivery of many of its classes. Many of the classes that were originally scheduled to be taught on campus are now being taught online until governing officials allow classes to resume on campus. The online classes are temporarily approved by the Florida Department of Education (Commission for Independent Education), the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Profession, the Florida Board of Nursing, and the United States Department of Education.
