EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (AS in EMS) – ONLINE

Prerequisite: Must be a Paramedic or obtain a Paramedic Diploma prior to enrolling
The Associate of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services prepares individuals who are seeking career advancement and increased employment opportunities in the field of Emergency Medical Services.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT)
Diploma
4-Month Program
The EMT program teaches basic life-support skills including: patient assessment, opening airways, restoring breathing, controlling blood loss, treating victims of shock, immobilizing fractures, bandaging wounds, childbirth assistance, caring for heart attack patients, poison and burn victims, and the transportation of patients.
PARAMEDIC
Diploma
12-Month Program
The Paramedic program prepares the graduate to function in a pre-hospital setting performing patient assessments, the administration of medications, administering EKGs, and advanced resuscitation procedures.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus and in cooperation with local and state health agencies, HCI College has made temporary changes to the mode of delivery of many of its classes. Many of the classes that were originally scheduled to be taught on campus are now being taught online until governing officials allow classes to resume on campus. The online classes are temporarily approved by the Florida Department of Education (Commission for Independent Education), the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Profession, the Florida Board of Nursing, and the United States Department of Education.
