HCI in Fort Lauderdale would proudly like to introduce their new faculty and staff. With a combined total of over 120 years of nursing experience, this team is ready to build the next generation of nurses that are needed to fulfill the increasing healthcare demands in our communities.

The program is led by Paulette Chiravalle. Professor Chiravalle earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University and has been a nurse for over 30 years. She has worked in ICU, PACU, oncology, and is an active Family Nurse Practitioner. Professor Chiravalle is currently pursuing her DNP.

Minnette Adderly is a new member of the team and teaches Med Surg labs and clinicals for HCI. She has her MSN from Florida Atlantic University and has experience in Trauma, ICU, and Recovery/PACU. Minette has been a nurse for over 15 years.

Minday Adkinson joined the HCI nursing team back in May 2018. Mindy has been a nurse for over 40 years and has her BSN from Nova Southeastern University. She has been a staff nurse, clinical preceptor, nurse manager, and clinical educator throughout her career. Professor Adkinson is currently teaching Fundamentals of Nursing lectures and labs and is also a Pediatrics Clinical Instructor with HCI. Mindy Adkinson is currently pursuing her Master’s in Healthcare Administration

Shalonna Battle has been with HCI since October 2017. Professor Battle has her MSN from frontier University and has been a nurse for 11 years. She is an ARNP WHNP-BC and has experience as a OB nurse and Women’s Health Nurse practitioner. Shalonna Battle is now pursuing her DNP.

Roselyn Berkel is a fundamentals of nursing instructor with HCI. Roselyn joined the HCI team in June of 2017. She has been a nurse for 7 years and has her BSN from Kaplan University. Professor Berkel is now pursuing her MSN.

Brandi Buttimer is a newer member of the HCI team. She joined the team in May of 2018. Brandi has her MSN from the University of Mary and has been a nurse for 7 years. She has experience as a care manager, clinic RN, and as an ER Nurse.

Tianah Levy is a new member of the HCI team, joining the roster in June 2018. She has her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing and has 4 years of experience as a med surge nurse. She teaches Fundamentals of Nursing labs, Med Surg clinicals, and Pediatrics Obstetrics lectures. Professor Levy is also pursuing her MSN in Education.
Emelia Manu is a new lab and clinical instructor with HCI. She joined the team in May 2018 and has her MSN from the University of Phoenix. She has over 12 years of experience as a registered nurse with field experience as an LPN, RN, and nursing leadership.

Joanne McCalla is a Med Surg instructor with HCI. She joined the team in October of 2017. Professor McCalla has been a nurse for over 23 years. She earned her MSN in Education from the University of Phoenix. She has experience as an administrator in charge, PICC line nurse, discharge lounge nurse, director of nursing, and a nursing supervisor. Professor McCalla teaches Med Surg with HCI.

Joy Nelson is a new addition to the growing HCI team of nursing faculty. She earned her MSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She will be teaching clinicals for HCI students.

Isiaka Salvador is one of the newest members of the HCI team. Professor Salvador joined HCI in July of 2018 and is going to be a clinical instructor for fundamentals students and Med Surg students. Professor Salvador earned his MSN from the University of Phoenix. Professor Salvador has over 24 years of experiences as a nurse with work experience ranging from team manager, patient care coordination to work as Psychb/ICU/Telemetry/Med-Surg nurse.

Janique Stewart is an introduction to nursing instructor here at HCI. She has been with HCI since January 2018. She has her MSN from Nova Southeastern University and specializes as a family nurse practitioner. She has experience as a team leader and an orthopedic nurse.

Robert Timme earned his BSN from the University of Phoenix and has been a nurse for 22 years. He teaches Pharmacology, Medical Math workshops, and helps coordinate clinicals. Professor Timme joined the HCI team in January 2018.

Elizabeth Vincent became a member of the HCI team in March 2018. She has been a nurse for over 21 years. She has experience as a member of a critical care unit, a senior nurse reviewer, and a nursing instructor. She earned her MSN from Florida Atlantic University.
