From LPN to RN in 20 Months

From LPN to RN 20 months

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) can increase their employment opportunities with a degree in nursing.

Going from LPN-to-RN in 20 months is possible at HCI College. You already have many of the basics down from your LPN education and experience. Take your career to the next level by training to become an RN.

The foundation for an RN Career

As an LPN you already do many of the same tasks that RNs do. You care for patients at the direction of a nurse. LPNs assist patients in bathing, dressing, and eating. They also clean rooms and beds, serve food trays, check patients for adverse reactions to treatments, and more.

RNs provide a higher level of care. They can modify treatment plans, supervise other nurses, provide immunizations and first aid, and more. In many cases, RNs have more autonomy than LPNs and can make decisions on their own in many areas.

Your education as an LPN is a great foundation for becoming an RN. The nursing program at HCI College accepts your credits from your LPN program, allowing you to accelerate your learning. Earn your associate of science in nursing degree in only 20 months!

Once you complete the LPN-to-RN program, you qualify to take the NCLEX-RN exam. Passing the NCLEX-RN exam is vital for becoming a Registered Nurse and getting jobs as an RN. The RN program at HCI College meets the high standards required by the Florida State Board of Nursing so that graduates are set up for success in their careers.

Going from LPN to RN

LPNs with an unencumbered license get transfer credits for Introduction to Professional Nursing (NUR2000) and Nursing I Fundamentals lecture, lab and clinicals (NUR1023, 1022L, 1023L). You will go into the next level nursing courses and complete general education courses, as well.
