Dr. Cheryl Harcum

Dr. Cheryl Thomas-Harcum has been partnering in health care for over 40 years. Dr. Harcum has been a Registered nurse for 40 years. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the 1980s from Herbert H. Lehman College in New York, she later returned to school and received her Post Masters Adult Nurse Practitioner degree at Molloy College in Long Island New York, and lastly a Doctorate in Nursing Practice degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Dr. Harcum has successfully combined her passion and love for teaching by having practiced in multiple clinical areas such as Medicine, Infectious disease Surgery, Ambulatory Care, Trauma, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Critical Care, OR, and PACU at New York Presbyterian, Columbia University and Weil Cornel medical centers in NY. She was instrumental in securing level 1 Trauma Designation for Weil Cornell Medical Center in NY, and Stroke Designation/Certification for the New York Presbyterian Community campus in NY. Dr. Harcum is Six Sigma Lean Certified and has extensive experience in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance.

Dr. Harcum has been teaching at both the hospital and higher education levels as an Educator, Education Coordinator, and Professor for the City University of New York. When not nursing or teaching Dr. Harcum enjoys Reiki to keep her centered.
