David Shelpman, Jr., MHRM

David joined HCI College in February 2019 and serves as Group Campus President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing daily operations at both campuses. In this role, he provides leadership across campus operations, student services, and institutional initiatives, with a focus on quality education, operational excellence, and accountability.

With nearly 20 years of leadership experience in higher education, David has held senior leadership roles across proprietary, private nonprofit, and for-profit institutions. His professional experience spans campus operations, admissions, marketing, accreditation, and organizational leadership. He has successfully led teams through institutional and programmatic accreditation processes and is committed to building strong, accountable teams focused on student success.

David is also a founding member and regular contributor to The Commons, a community of career education professionals working across departments and campuses to address the common challenges facing the career education industry. Through his contributions, David shares practical insights and perspectives on topics affecting career education, including evolving regulations, student expectations, institutional operations, technology, and the changing higher education landscape.

Academically, David holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Daymar College (2008), a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a concentration in Human Resources Management from DeVry University (2012), and a Master’s in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management (2015).
