Paramedic Training

Health Career Institute offers both a certificate and associate degree option to prepare students for careers in emergency medical services. Upon completion of our paramedic program, students are eligible to sit for the state of Florida's Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certification exam.
HCI’s instructors teach aspiring paramedics to provide thorough emergency care. Associate degree programs prepare students for management-level careers in pre-hospital care settings and health administration.

Paramedic Program Description

PARAMEDIC DESCRIPTION

Paramedics are trained to provide advance life support in medical and trauma related emergencies.

This Paramedic program is offered as a Certificate Program or towards an AS Degree in EMS. The program is intended for the student who wishes to complete the core curriculum and be eligible for certification by the State of Florida to practice as a Paramedic.

Course content includes lecture, skills lab, and hospital/fire rescue rotations as outlined in the core requirments of the Emergency Medical Services A.S Degree Program. (More Information!)

Paramedic Admission

Registration is considered complete only when the following requirements have been met and the date of such has been indicated on the application. Student handbook and objectives will be given to the student at that time. In order to register the student must:

Present a valid Florida State EMT Certification (get certified with us!)
Present a current BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR) AHA card
be 18 years of age
have a physical/ health clearance from a physician
Health forms provided in application packet
valid drivers license or photo ID
submit payment of first semesters tuition
